“CAVALLINO”

The Prancing Horse, set loose. Ferrari's Cavallino rears straight out of the black in raw white gesture, mane flying, muscle mid-charge, speed lines cutting the dark. No car in frame, and it doesn't need one. This is the soul of the badge before the engine even turns over.

Ferrari Cavallino art by Ethan Blair

“I wanted to feel it move”

Everybody knows the badge. The little horse, reared up, standing for a hundred years of speed and passion. But a badge sits still. I wanted to feel it move.

So I flipped everything, white on black instead of black on white, and let the horse come charging out of the dark the way it lives in your head when you hear a Ferrari before you see it. The mane, the muscle, those slashes cutting across the canvas, that's the sound. That's the pulse quickening.

It's the same thing I chase in every piece: not the machine, but the feeling the machine gives you. The Cavallino has carried that feeling longer than any of us have been alive. I just wanted to catch it mid-stride.
