”Formula 1 + Louis V.”

Formula 1 is the fastest thing on four wheels. Louis Vuitton is the slowest luxury there is, built to outlast you. I put them on the same canvas to see which one wins. Neither does. That's the point.

“No color. No sponsors. Just the shapes, fighting it out.

A Formula 1 car is pure function. Every surface exists to cut air. There's nothing on it that doesn't earn its place. The Louis Vuitton monogram is the opposite: a pattern that exists only to be recognized, repeated for over a century until it became a language of its own. Two kinds of obsession, one about the next hundredth of a second and one about the next hundred years. Painting them together in black and white strips out the brand colors and the sponsor noise and leaves the shapes to argue it out. The car wants to move. The pattern wants to hold still. My brush ended up somewhere between them, fast in the body, deliberate in the monogram. Square canvas, on purpose. No horizon, no road, nowhere for the car to go except into the pattern.
